- It is not the fault of the channel bank. It is the way that the telcos
- provision the line. Every POTS line goes through a channel bank, either
- at the CO or at your site. The trouble starts when the telcos get stupid
- and take a T1, run it through a channel bank to analog lines, then
- redigitize it to run on a T1 to the customer site. The extra DA/AD step
- really hoses things up. It costs the telco more to do it this way, in
- both equipment and maintenence costs, but they charge a *lot* more to
- deliver it straight. The beauty of it is that the telco doesn't see how
- it can make a difference, or so they say.
